Itinerary - 12 Day Grand Namibian Safari    

This safari has a fully accommodated itinerary using a selection of, guest-houses and lodges and bungalows
throughout Namibia. Collection time is between 08:30 & 09:00 in Windhoek.

Day one Windhoek - Namib Desert (lodge accommodation) (LD) Eros Mountains - Khomas Hochland Range.
through the impressive Remhoogte Pass Solitaire, Namibia’s second smallest town

Day two Lodge - Sesriem - Sossusvlei - Lodge (lodge accommodation) (BLD) A pre dawn start to watch the
sunrise on the desert. Sesriem, Namib Naukluft National Park Tthe world’s highest dunes Sossusvlei “dune 45
Sesriem Canyon

Day three Sand dune desert - Swakopmund, Skeleton Coast (Hotel accommodation) (BLD) Swakopmund
located on the Skeleton Coast We cross the Tropic of Capricorn Travel through both the Gaub and the Kuiseb
pass Desolate “Namib gravel plains” Walvis Bay. Flamingos and other bird life in the Walvis Bay lagoon .

Day four Swakopmund (hotel accommodation) (BL) Today is a free day. Dinner tonight is for the clients own
ccount in a local restaurant.

Day five Swakopmund - Damaraland (lodge accommodation) (BLD) Seal colony at Cape Cross home to the
Cape Fur Seals Damaraland Uis, located in the remote desert. Uis is an old mining town and one of the best
laces to buy semi-precious stones for which Namibia is famous. Rough Amethyst, Tourmaline etc can be found
at bargain prices. Namibia’s highest mountain, The Brandberg, (2573 m) Twyfelfontien.

Day six Damaraland - Oase Himba Village, Kamanjab (BLD) (guest-house accommodation) Ancient site of
Twyfelfontein - one of the most important archeological sites in southern Africa and we will have a local guide
to take us around and introduce us to the petroglyphs. Kamanjab Himba Tribesmen at Oase. We will be invited
into Oase Village to meet with the locals. We will have a specialist guide for the time we are there, who will be
able to translate for us and will introduce us to this “alternative lifestyle”. We will learn about marriage customs,
traditional food and the mysteries of the local religion, “Holy Fire”.

Day seven Kamanjab - Northern Damaraland (BLD) (lodge accommodation) The far northern regions of Namibia,
Small game reserve.

Day eight Northern Damaraland - Okaukuejo, Etosha National Park (BLD) (bungalow accommodation) Traveling
with special permission through the western side of Etosha National Park, we transit through this restricted area
that is set aside for research and breeding. We have the chance to see some species not normally seen in the
main tourist areas of the park. Okaukuejo region of Etosha Game drive Okaukuejo’s floodlit waterhole. The
Okaukuejo waterhole is famous One of the "best game viewing opportunities in Southern Africa".

Day nine Okaukuejo, Etosha (BLD) (bungalow accommodation) Early morning game drive. Visit some of the
waterholes to watch Etosha's big game, out for an early morning drink. Game drives

Day ten Okaukuejo camp - Namutoni Etosha (BLD) (lodge accommodation) A full day's game driving and we l
eave early to enjoy the cool morning air. Halali camp, situated in the middle of the park. The massive Etosha Pan.

Day eleven Etosha - Otavi Mountains (BLD) (lodge accommodation) Community of Bushman or San people. The
Ombili village Otavi mountains

Day twelve Otavi - Windhoek (BL) Okahandj, home to Namibia’s largest woodcarving market
