African Photo Safaris and Alaska Fly Fishing Adventures is pleased to announce the addition of our Alaskan Lodge at the Pinewood Inn, in Sterling Alaska. Sterling is centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula. Our Pinewood Inn fly fishing Lodge will be open for the 2008 season beginning in April.
We finalized the purchase of the Pinewood Inn Lodge on October 23 of 2007. Please view the photos at the bottom of this page taken recently of our lodge and the adjacent two bedroom fully furnished Cabin.
The Pinewood Inn lodge is located off the Sterling highway five miles north of Soldotna. We are located 30 minutes from the Russian River, 10 minutes from Soldotna and two and a half hours south of Anchorage.
You will be smack dab in the middle of the Kenai Peninsula where our guests will be just under two miles from popular red salmon fishing on the Kenai River, twenty minutes from the Kasilof River for King Salmon fishing and 30 minutes from Ninilchik for Halibut fishing. We are only two hours from Seward for glacier cruises and the Alaska Sea Life Center.
If you get tired of fishing, (If that's possible,) our guests can just relax on the covered porch in the solitude of the park like setting around the lodge or sit by the camp fire and enjoy poking the burning embers. A nightly BBQ of fresh salmon or halibut will delight our guest's palate and fish cleaning and processing will be also available to all guests free of charge.
Other things to do near by include Birchwood golf course, Soldotna shopping malls, gold panning, mountain biking, wildlife photography, Bear viewing, hiking and glacier hikes just to name a few things.
Airport pick up is available at no charge at near by Kenai, 12 scenic miles away.
